India Aims to Turn all Vehicles Electric by 2030: Mr. Padmesh Mandloi

Industry leaders to discuss a plan for pollution-free India

•   Two days Hybrid Electric Vehicle Confex 2018 took place at Pune
•    More than 40 companies’ participated and over 123 attendees were present at the Confex

Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Confex 2018 inaugurated at Hotel Hyatt Pune. Which aims majority of new vehicles on road should be hybrid by 2020 to reduce vehicular pollution and cut the bill on crude oil imports.

At the inaugural event, more than 123 attendees were present from companies including Bosch, Mahindra Electric, Oerlikon, Siemens and Ansys. The Hybrid & Electric Vehicles CONFEX 2018 is India’s unique and most comprehensive HEV event which provides an unparalleled platform to address critical information on both the technical developments in Hybrid & Electric vehicle technologies, as well as the business decisions surrounding development and implementation.

“Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) will be a good long term option to help achieve global targets regarding road transport greenhouse gas emission.” Said Mr Syed Fareed Ahmed, HEV Enthusiast from Bangalore. 
   
The event, which was organised at Hotel Hyatt, Pune on 9th August and 10th, were speakers lineup which includes Mr. Guruprasad Mudlapur, Managing Director of Robert Bosch Automotive Electronics, Ms. Sulajja Firodia- Joint Managing Director of Kinetic Engineering, Dr. Dhananjay Kumar PhD- Managing Director (Electric Vehicle) & Director- Business Dev. Thor Power Corporation, Mr. Padmesh Mandloi, Technical Account Manager Ansys, Mr. Atul Dalvi, Head- Business Development Powertrain, Mr. Yasushi Iguchi, Director Asia Pacific & Middle East Operation MIDTRONICS and Mr. Pallav Gupta, AGM, Strategy Marketing and Product Strategy, Oerlikon. 

Mr Padmesh Mandloi, said, “Moving to hybrid and electric vehicles would require setting up of large infrastructure and has a long journey. However, India has a bright future and aims to make all vehicles electric by 2030”.

The Government of India aspires for a nation with 100 per cent electric vehicles (EVs) by 2030. In this regard, Mr. Atul Dalvi, Head- Business Development Powertrain, Siemens said, “The governments take towards electric vehicles is really encouraging for industry leaders; it would be interesting to see how this mission is executed”.

Mr. Pallav Gupta, AGM, Strategy Marketing and Product Strategy, Oerlikon, said.’ “Electric car uses alternate fuel electricity instead of petrol or diesel, so there is a growing acceptance for hybrid and electric vehicles in India which is resulting in more manufacturers entering this niche segment to reduce vehicular pollution and cut the bill on crude oil imports.”
